These quilts were originated with a year-long 9-Patch Exchange, where each quiltmaker came to meetings with 15 of the same 9-Patch blocks. A trade took place and each quiltmaker went home with 15 different 9-Patch blocks. After the year-long exchange/trade ended, each quiltmaker made a quilt of her own design using the 9-Patch blocks.
